Stunning Greenland! First snapshots - arriving on the ice...

The first snapshots of stunning Greenland... Ben Saunders touching down in the Watkins Mountains for a two week training trip as part of preparation for the Scott Expedition.

This May Ben Saunders and his team mate Tarka L'Herpiniere travelled to Greenland for a two week training expedition as part of their preparation for the Scott Expedition. Relatively accessible and with similar conditions to Antarctica, Greenland makes the perfect testing ground for polar expeditions.

The Scott Expedition will be arguably the most ambitious journey in polar history - an 1800 mile, unsupported return journey from the coast of Antarctica to the South Pole retracing the route taken by Captain Scott on his ill-fated Terra Nova expedition.

It will be the longest unsupported journey in polar history and first time Scott's journey is completed.
